Information about the activities and finances of more than 650,000 not-for-profit organizations. Requires free registration to see 990 information on organizations.
Guidestar is now part of the Candid suite of tools. Grasselli Library does not currently provide access to the "pro" version of Guidestar.
Catholic Funding Guide
**Contact a JCU librarian for user name and password. A directory of private and church-sponsored agencies that support a variety of Catholic activities. Includes the following information for each foundation or agency: contact information, geographic giving pattern, special interests, assets, grant total, grant range, grant average, grant total number, limitations, and application information.
CharityWatch
Rates and lists top-rated charities by category.
Charity Navigator
Charity evaluation and ratings, searchable by categories, location, or keywords.

National Center for Charitable Statistics
The national repository of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States. Here you can find information on organizations, view IRS Form 990 images, analyze financial data on the sector, look at trends in charitable giving, or download data.
Grants.Gov
Search and apply for federal grants by keywords or more specific criteria. All discretionary grants offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies can be found on Grants.gov. You do not have to register with Grants.gov to find grant opportunities.
GrantSpace
GrantSpace, a service of the Foundation Center, offers information and resources that are specifically designed to meet the needs of nonprofits worldwide.

Foundation Center Funding Information Network

Candid, including the Foundation Center Directory online, is a body of resources that individual researchers and nonprofit organizations can use to research funding opportunities from foundations and corporations. The Cleveland Heights-University Heights offers free access to Candid, and other print and electronic resources to locate grants and grantmakers. Access to the full suite of Candid tools is available in the Lee Road (Main) branch of the CH-UH library only. You do not need a library card, and you may use either the library's computers or your own device. For more information, see information on the CH-UH library website.
