Ways to Get Help

Responsible Research

Academic honesty and ethical responsibility are expected from every John Carroll student. Following proper attribution and citation of resources used is one aspect of ethical research behavior. American Medical Association (AMA) format is often used for medical/health related research, however make sure to check with your professor for the preferred citation and style formatting. Below are some resources to help you, and the JCU Writing Center is also a great resource for help with citations!

Review Articles

Review articles, literature reviews, or literature surveys are articles that bring together past research on a subject. They analyze, evaluate, and summarize research without presenting new experimental data. They may draw conclusions based on the body of research as a whole, including gaps in the body of research. These types of articles are great for understanding the current state of research on a topic, and can provide strong leads for citation trails.
