Alma/Ex Libris Migration

Resources and information to help with ILS migration

Additional Ex Libris Products

A number of modules will be available to implement after the main implementation phase of Alma/Primo migration. These pages include resources for these additional products.

This is the "resource sharing platform." It encompasses ILL among Alma libraries worldwide. It can be configured to integrate with other vendors' ILL products to which your institution subscribes. If you see "RapidILL," that is a sub-component of Rapido for document delivery. Rapido also has a copyright clearance component.

  • OhioLINK will be using Alma’s Rapido product to manage PCIRC borrowing. This is a service that we will be consortially preparing to be live soon after go-live.
  • Resumed lending with SearchOhio is also expected to happen through Rapido, and this will go live as soon as possible.
  • Rapido can additionally be used for ILL. The consortial implementation will not focus on replacing ILL tools at go-live. Based on local need & workflows, it may be possible for some libraries to switch to Rapido entirely post go-live. This is a local decision.

Leganto integrates with the institutional environment, including Ex Libris Alma and Primo, course management systems, authentication tools, and a variety of other services for academia. It is used to connect course management systems directly with library resources via "reading lists," and facilitates the process for instructors to add library resources into the course management system.

Alma Digital is an add-on product integrated with the Alma platform. It is a digital repository management tool for housing digital resources and collections and their metadata, and is searchable through the Primo VE discovery platform if desired.
