Floor Information

  • Special Collections are housed in Room 324 at the top of the main staircase, and access is by appointment only. Closed for Spring 2025 due to construction. Will reopen Fall 2025.
  • Down the corridor from Special Collections, the Graduate Student Lounge is available for study, conversation, or a break between classes. The key for this room is available at the Help Desk (2nd floor). Closed for Spring 2025, will reopen Fall 2025.
  • The main feature of the Breen wing on this level is the Muer Room, a large and comfortable space with lots of natural light for quiet reading and study. The St. Francis Xavier Spiritual Reading Corner is at the far end.
  • The McDonough Room​ is an enclosed area for quiet study. JCU masters' theses and papers are also housed here. Closed during construction for Spring 2025. Will reopen Fall 2025.
  • Restrooms - all gender single-stall restrooms are located along the far west wall of Breen on every floor. 
  • Microforms: Please ask at the circulation desk for access. Microfilms are kept in Special Collections, and only accessible by appointment.
  • Group Study rooms, and lots of other study space are available throughout the building.
