The Wall Street Journal at JCU

The Boler College of Business and Grasselli Library now provide full access to the Wall Street Journal digital version for the students, faculty, and staff of the John Carroll Community. You need only establish access once each academic year and you will have access until the beginning of the next academic year. You can also use on your phones and devices.

Initial sign up instructions

1. You will need your JCU username and BannerID. You must sign up using your JCU email account. Do this initial sign-up while on JCU's secure IP range (that means it will not work if on the unsecured, guest wireless.) During this time, you will need to set up and renew your access through the University's VPN, instructions from ITS: https://jcu.edu/its. After the initial sign-up you can access the WSJ from anywhere on any device.

2. Go to this link.

3. You will see this Dialog Box; 

4. Complete the form following these instructions:

  • Enter your first and last name.

  • For the Account Type, click the drop down arrow and choose Student, Faculty or Staff.

  • Enter your JCU email address.  If WSJ already has an account for your JCU email address, red text will appear under the E-mail box that says “It looks like you already have an account.  Please sign in here” Click on the word “here” and sign in on that screen with the password you have already set up. Just make sure your name appears in the response box.

  • Enter a password for your account, NOT your Banner ID.

  • If you want to be informed of updates & offers, check that box.

  • Check the “I agree …” box.

  • Click the Create button.

5. A Confirmation screen will appear with your Confirmation Number. Click the "OK, Let’s Go" button.

6. The following screen will appear.  You can learn more about your WSJ membership on this screen.  If you want to go right to the Wall Street Journal, click the small link in the top right corner that says "Continue to WSJ.com."

7. Once you have created this account, you can access the Wall Street Journal directly at https://www.wsj.com/ using the email and password entered in the form above.  This account will be available until the end of this academic year.
