No visitor to the library could miss the changes in progress due to the major renovation of the library building. The Learning Commons, Archives, and other collections and services were relocated as the entire lower level of the building was closed. However, we were able to continue offering nearly all services normally available. One exception was the Den coffee shop, which will return, freshly updated, in 2025!
The Learning Commons is a free tutoring service where students can get help with assignments or with studying for quizzes & exams from faculty-vetted peer tutors. Subjects include chemistry, accounting, business statistics, math, foreign languages, psychology, and more. It's the most heavily used space in the library. See more about the Learning Commons and current schedule at the link below!
The library offers spaces for a range of uses. This includes rooms that provide students with a respite from study such as the Interfaith Prayer Room (the most used special use room in the library), Nap Zones, and Relaxation Room. The Graduate Student Lounge was also a popular place for graduate students to study, work on projects, or take a break. Although construction sometimes created challenges in keeping these spaces available for students, the library worked hard to make them accessible as much as possible!
